This time I went diving with Palm Beach Divers, who were recommended to me by my PADI instructor on Tioman. In the beginning of the week I went on a trip to Koh Bida Nok and Hin Bida dive sites. These provide a good change to see Black Tip Reef Sharks and Leopard Sharks.
Indeed there were sharks there. I saw 2 Black Tip Reef Sharks in the first minute on the first dive (see picture below), while some of the other divers did no see them at all. On the second dive there were multiple Leopard Sharks but unfortunately we were unlucky or as my dive guide put it “bollocks”. We saw the video afterwards of a couple of them engaged in a sort of mating ritual. Fantastic looking animals!!
Thats diving… you could be 10 meters way from something spectacular and not see it. Next to sharks there are also Sea Turtles in the area. We were fortunately the first to see a Sea Turtle come for an early lunch. As there were no other divers around for the first minutes we got a good look and the turtle was completely comfortable with us being around. After a while the turtle decided to move on as it was getting a bit crowded (or perhaps it needed some air)
